Rock Assembly offers the opportunity for students to engage with a wide range of employers, with workshops and webinars focusing on a variety of topics including introductions to apprenticeships, employability, sector specific subjects and much more!

The job market for students leaving school or university can be tricky and now more than ever we need to help them as much as we can to secure the very best opportunities when they enter the workplace. Young Professionals would like to extend their invitation to their very first parent / carers information evening event. 

They have leaders from some of the biggest employers in their industry IBM, HSBC, PwC, bp, University of Bath, Clifford Chance & Capgemini coming to talk about how young people can navigate the job market to find some incredible work experience / internship placements as well as graduate and apprenticeship opportunities. They will be sharing some useful tips around psychometric testing, how to prepare for assessment centres, CV’s, and applications as well as lots of information around preparing young people for the workplace / university. 

This event is free of charge and it will be running on Thursday 30th September, 6pm – 7:30pm. Parents and carers will have the opportunity to join this event virtually with their students, ask questions to leading employers and obtain lots of useful information. Aspire by upReach are launching their inaugural Aspire Webinar Series, including a Career Exploration Week. 

Commencing from Thursday 30th September, and running until December, these 10 free, live webinars include:

  • Expert panel sessions to provide top tips on students’ post-18 options, from university to apprenticeships.

  • A week of "Career Exploration" webinars, taking place in November, with insight from industry experts and the upReach team.

  • Opportunities to send questions to the panel during the live online events, running from 5:00pm-6:00pm (cameras/microphones will be off). Please see the attached poster below for more information and click here to register for the free webinars. 

 

 

PwC’s Flying Start degree programmes give you the best of both worlds between going to university or opting for an apprenticeship.

You’ll get to work with world-class clients and be part of their highly skilled teams, as well as be able to still enjoy that university experience. You’ll gain a degree, and hopefully impress them enough to secure a graduate job once you graduate.

On Monday 4th October Young Professional's will be hosting an evening event with PwC from 5:00pm - 6:00pm as they take you through all of their different Flying Start degree apprenticeship programmes in Accounting, Technology and Business Management, as well as all of their work experience and other student opportunities.

This online event is open to students in Yr 11 to Yr 13.

WorldSkills UK’s Spotlight Talks: Inspiring Careers Excellence is back by popular demand, delivering free virtual advice and guidance to support young people to confidently take the next step on their career ladder.

Broadcast live on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 October, the Spotlight Talks will focus on the exciting digital skills and careers that can be built from technical education and apprenticeships. This follows research from WorldSkills UK which shows that demand from employers for digital skills will continue to grow.

Aimed at secondary school students, school leavers and those in further education, the content can be easily viewed on any smart device.


The free online careers event, hosted in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT will feature inspiring talks from leading employers including Rolls-Royce, PwC, Mace, AECOM, Everton in the Community and many more. Register here.

 

Young Professionals have recently partnered with Clifford Chance (the second largest law firm in the world) to put on "a never before seen opportunity" with the firm - a one day Law Virtual Insight Experience in the October Half Term.

If you’re thinking of Law as a possible career on Tuesday October 26th from 9pm - 4pm Young Professionals will be hosting a Virtual Law Work Experience with Clifford Chance.

Clifford Chance is one of the world’s biggest law firms and they are giving students nationwide the chance to get an insight into the legal industry within a magic circle firm.

Hear from some of the most experienced lawyers and solicitors as they take you through workshops specifically designed for this event, as well as having the chance to ask your questions to the very best!
